A lot of people I speak to, when they’re having a rough time in life, be it a bad day, week, month, or even a bad year, the first thing that people say constantly is “But I have nothing to be happy about”.

It can be really hard when you get yourself in a rut, which has been unconsciously bubbling away for years, to see past the current moment.

But just as you got yourself into the rut, be it through negative self talk, loss of motivation, setbacks, etc. or a combination of all three, it is possible to get back out.

When I was depressed, I too, couldn’t see the light. All I could see was how hard it was to get through each day, how challenging it was to fight with my own mind, and how much I didn’t know if tomorrow was worth waking up to. I didn’t like my job, I wasn’t happy with choices I had made, my relationships were falling apart, and I wasn’t taking care of my health.

I had an option though.

I could continue seeing my life as it was, or I could create a new life. A new set of habits. A new light at the end of this tunnel.

So that is exactly what I did. I created the opportunities I now have that I am so fortunate to be apart of, I created the light that keeps me waking up in the morning.

I challenge you to question yourself today, ask yourself what are you not happy with, and start finding out how you can create that new light.
